Payment and Pricing

The cost of monthly tuition is $95. Payment is due by the first lesson of each month. The curriculum and materials needed will be provided to the student. We charge an on-boarding curriculum fee that takes care of the cost of their materials and first few lesson books. This fee varies depending on the curriculum they will be using. Our current accepted payment methods are: online through the student portal, cash, check, Venmo, and PayPal. Other forms of payment may be arranged upon request based on each situation individually and at the sole discretion of With Sail and Anchor Studios.

Cancellation / Reschedule Policy

Please inform us in advance if the student will not be able to attend a lesson. If 24 hours notice is given, you will be provided the option to choose a make-up lesson from the available time slots. Only 1 makeup lessons can be issued per month, and only 1 makeup credit be can be in the student's account at a time. If 24 hours of notice is not given, then a make-up lesson will not be provided. We do not issue refunds for students missing lessons or arriving late. If the student would like to discontinue lessons, please let us know. If the student misses 2 consecutive lessons, no communication was given, and we are unable to reach you or your emergency contact for those 2 weeks, then we will mark the student as inactive, and re-open the time slot to be taken by someone else. If a student is planning on missing multiple consecutive lessons in a month (i.e. summer vacation) and would like to have their spot on hold so it will not be taken, we charge a $12 per week holding fee for up to 2 months. Notice must be given before the month of absence in order for us to charge the holding fee in stead of the entire cost of lessons. If a lesson is cancelled by the teacher, at no fault of the student, the cost of the missed lesson will be refunded into the student's account as a positive credit toward the next month. We have these cancellation policies in place, however, your efforts to communicate and keep us in the loop will go a long way for you and we will always do our best to accommodate accordingly.

Practice Policy

The student must own a piano or keyboard in order to take lessons with us. An old proverb says, “Teachers can open the door, but you must enter it yourself.” When it comes to learning an instrument, the amount of time each student spends practicing determines how quickly they will learn and how great they will become at playing their instrument. Students need time set aside each day to practice without interruptions.

Recitals

We typically hold 2 recitals per year during which each student has the opportunity to celebrate their progress by playing a song they have been working on. Students’ families and friends are all welcome to attend. We do not charge a recital fee, we just want families to participate and have fun.

Vacation Policy

There are 52 weeks in a year of which we take 4 weeks off throughout the year for vacation. Each student will have 48 lessons with us per year. We do not issue makeup lessons or refunds for the vacation weeks we take off. We include this in the cost of tuition. However, if your lesson happens to fall on a holiday such as Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc. and is not part of the 4 weeks we take off, we can issue a makeup credit.

Tuning

If your student plays on an acoustic piano, it is important to keep it tuned regularly. With Sail and Anchor Studios offers piano tuning services if needed. Just give us a call.
